In recent years, demand for industrial pumps in Southeast Asia, South Africa and South Asia increases rapidly. Demand in Europe, China and the U.S. still accounts for a large proportion. Even in developed countries, demand for pump products also rises with the economic growth. And with the changes of the future global industrial development structure, demand in Europe and the U.S. will slow down, and the market size will continue to expand in other regions.
There are over 2,000 pump manufacturers in China. Chinese manufacturers can produce 450 series of 5,000 kinds of pumps. In 2015, the production volume of pumps in China exceeded 100 million. There are numerous manufactures in China’s pump industry. However, the small production scale, insufficient R&D investment and relatively lagging techniques and equipment of most manufactures lead to no formation of scale economies effect, bad product quality stability and poor anti risk ability. The overall level of the industry is still low, which is embodied in the low product technology content on a low level in the world and many high-end products also relying on import.
As the important corollary facilities of equipment manufacturing industry, industrial pumps benefit from the encouragement and supporting policies of the government to revitalize the equipment manufacturing industry. In recent years, Chinese government has formulated and issued many documents and policies in order to encourage the development of related industries, such as the Rules for the Implementation on Planning of Adjustment and Revitalization of Equipment Manufacturing Industry, Action Plan of Energy Saving, Emission Reduction, Upgrading and Retrofitting of Coal-fired Power Plants (2014-2020), of which many detailed rules provide the development of pump industry with policy support. In addition, China is in a period of economic transformation, of which the development model is transferring from the original extensive development to the connotative development.
