In recent years, the garlic industry develops rapidly and becomes local mainstay in areas such as Shandong, Jiangsu, Henan, Hebei, Yunnan and Sichuan. China garlic is exported to over 120 countries and areas with increasing varieties and 70% of the exported tea is red garlic especially those mid-end and low-end kinds between 4.5cm to 5cm or 4.5cm to 5.5cm. The total output volume of garlic was about 4.5 million tons to 5 million tons with an export of 1.65 million tons in 2015.

Allicin is a kind of organic sulfur compounds extracted from garlic bulbs and it also can be found in onions and other onion plants. According to some animal experiments and vitro tests, allicin possesses functions of antibiosis, antifungal, antiphlogosis, antioxidant, antithrombus, lowering blood pressure, balancing lipoprotein and preventing arteriosclerosis. Allicin is popular in developed countries with health care consciousness and leads to a global heat of garlic health products. At present, the allicin health product market is initiated with a positive prospect in China.
