Beverage industry is one of the most dynamic industries in the world with new products launched almost every day. Domestic beverage market is stepping into an adjustment period and is looking for a new bursting point. Taste and health are paid the most attention to by consumers.

In 2017, there are 8 trends in beverage industry. Consumers have growing demands for natural, delicious and healthy products, so beverage industry must meet their needs.

1 Plant Water

Coconut and birch juices, rich in antioxidants, natural mineral substances, xylitol and natural sugar, have positive effect on health of human beings. Another potential source is prickly pear, a kind of cacti, which has a strong potential to replace coconut or aloe juice. Cacti are suitable for diabetic patients and are helpful to anti-high cholesterol and even can relieve hangovers.

2 Natural Brewed Teas and Coffees

Natural brewed drink is a product solution, which tastes like homemade coffee or tea. Raw materials are collected and used in beverage production without extraction process. Sugar or sweetening agents are not added in the product to keep its natural taste and antioxidants as much as possible.

3 Amino Acid Sport Beverages

Though people with health consciousness pay attention to functional beverages, they care more about their body status. Compared with single dieting, amino acid beverage together with low calorie diet is probably more helpful to lose weight.

4 Snack Beverages

New snack-type beverage market provides beverage with chia seeds, flax seeds, quinoa and buckwheat. Snack beverage provides natural mineral substances, vitamins, fibers and other nutriments.

5 Spicy Beverages

This kind of beverage contains ingredients of hot peppers, and is usually popular among young generations. For example, fruit juice beverage can use chilli powders, extracts of capsicum or ginger juice.

6 Vegetable Protein Beverages

Vegetable proteins are mainly used in fruit juices and fruit juice beverages, including protein of rice, soybean, spiral seaweed and lentil.

7 Matcha

Matcha is an extremely sensitive ingredient and should avoid direct sunlight when stored. For its characteristics, Matcha beverages are supposed to be stored in aluminum cans or Tetra Pak packages.

8 High Pressure Process (HPP) Beverage

HPP technique is common in processing of fruit juices and fruit juice beverages to keep the nutrient contents of fresh fruits and vegetables.
